When Congress is in recess a ton of work gets done. You respond to constituent correspondence. You do your research. Have your townhalls. File everything that is stacked up on your desk. If you are a DC staffer you get a slight break from the break neck speed of legislating. While it is more relaxed do people have to do it in jeans. We are still professional offices and people should dress accordingly. I remember a few August recesses ago I saw a girl come in with totally ripped jeans and flip flops! What are tax payers supposed to think when they see scummy staffers. I've seen people in completely inappropriate clothes. Don't get me started on the interns.
I think there needs to be a recess dress code.
