We Won!

Its been ten years. I can count on one hand the number of wins we have had. They were proposing cuts to Medicaid and school programs and child enforcement. They did a blanket across the board cut for all Health and Education program, they wanted to drill in ANWR and then on top of all of that they wanted to extend tax cuts for the rich. We are judged as a society by how we take care of those who cannot take care of themselves. I want to say thanks to the R's that voted the Labor-H budget down. It was the right thing to do. We won, I cannot believe it. It was a good week.

Freshman mistakes- A new Rep. Insulted one of the most decorated members of Congress. She called him a coward on the House Floor. I see why people hate politics and politicians. The politics of personal destruction is bullshit. If you can't
win on the merits of your arguments then you shouldn't be governing. This goes for both sides.

Late nights at work- For those of you don't know we take really tough political votes after 1:00am. Prescription drug vote and Budget reconciliation were the most recent. Its the only time you can avoid the news cycle. It lame to vote so late especially when you are staff waiting with your boss. Its not like you can return calls to constituents that late. People hate telemarketers do you think they want to hear from their Member of Congress or their staff after 7:00PM.
