Le tour de hot dog de la globe

I have started a hot dog tour of the world...when I was younger my global hot dog tour started in Coppenhagen, a sausage in a baguette with some crazy Remoulade. It was tasty. However disaster struck and a Danish Bus driver uncermoniously forbade my eating the dog on the bus. While the experience was unfulfilling I had a glimpse into what the world of hot dogs could be like.

The idea for the global hot dog tour came on a family vacation as we flew from BWi to Coppenhagen I sat in an old jet with crazy smoking Europeans, the food service was decidedily continental and I was anxious to land. I was reading the inflight magazine looking for a clue as to what awaited us in the land of Vikings. As I read fun facts about Scandanavia I stumbled on facts about Iceland....it said, lamb hot dogs were the national food of Iceland...

...did I read that correctly??? As i kept reading, captured by this outlandish statement, it went onto explain that Bjork my cousins beloved has a favorite Hot dog stand in Reykavik(spelling is not important to me). This cant be right! Hot dogs are strictly American, could I have been this naive and stupid, well i guess the answer is yes...so from that moment forward..well let's say my brother and cousin also planted the seed in my head..damn them and their mind games...I found myself on the first step on a global trek to eat hot dogs from around the world.

That brings me to today...the Cannon House Office Building's bacon cheddar hot dog. I like to refer to it as the Cannon Dog or C-dog. Imagine a grilled hot dog, plump and nicely cooked with cheddar cheese and bacon, sounds good right?? Well it was tasty but it became a bowel bomb...never again will I have this stupid hot dog..why cant they make a nice icelandic hot dog with fried onions. So the c-dog is grease pure and simple, not worth the price and not worth the blast it gives the body.

so the tour continues, im searching for the perfect hot dog....

You have bad luck with Hot Dogs man. Anyways, sweet...start the tour. There's this wonderful place Called the Stand in Cali. The atmosphere is chill. It's wonderful place for Pitchers of beer and really good juicy hot dog.

Have you tried the Dawg House out in Reisterstown? They're all american, they name their hot dogs after dogs like the dachshund (foot long chili-cheese dog), and they really only serve hot dogs. Not bad. I hope they're still around.
