Growing up I always had flip flops from as far back as I can remember. i remember wearing them all summer long, as i got older and had to work then the flip flops made appearances only on weekends and during travel. I have a pair of reefes that I bought four years ago, they are still fine but I thought I would treat myslef to a new pair. My first pair of reefs we're the tan leathery type flip flops, before that I had flojo's. Those things ruled. Flogos were fun flip flops most akin to the rite aid brand specials. SO my tan pair I had my junior and senior years in high school so all those memories are associated with it. not to menton those summers I spent at the beach doing nothing but hanging out in the water and working for Justins's brother.
So i go to the closest thing we have to a surf shop in DC Asylum Wake Skate and Snow, there were a hundred kids in their buying new skateboards, and they all kept asking the dude whats the best board, blonde skater kid, and he kept pushing boards with naked ladies on them. the parents would protest but the kids whined enough and so they all got naked lady boards. Its too funny.
Anyway I checked out all the surfwear and it was stuff that I remeber from the early 90's so fashion is alwyas cyclicial. So i find the reefs and find the pair Ihad in high school and bring them to the counter. The dude rings them up and they are $42 fucking dollars. What the fuck??? Thats just fucking crazy.
I walked but the store easily sold 10 compltee boards when I was there.
I wish Island Dreams would come back. It was so mellow, these stores are too much.

All Hail Island Dreams. I need some flip flops myself. Flojos did rule. I never realized how cheesy they where. They were 100% rubber, but it was perfect for us because they also dried up faster.
Is that why you always wear sunglasses?
