This is the best place for sushi in DC. The fish is fresh, like they pulled it from the ocean and chopped it up, and the prices are unbeatable. Me and a group of my friends had 9 rolls, 4 toro, 3 tamago, 3 lobster, 2 shirmp, makrel, 2 king crab, and some shumai and beers for $60.
Everyone write your Congressman and tell them to support GIlchrest's Magnuson-Stevens bill.
It was pouring when we went and it was packed. When we left there was a line heading out the door. This place for the price cannot be beat.
Sushi in DC runs the spectrum but the one trend that is equal amongst these restaurants are their prices. They are too high. tis place doesnt even produce great sushi, will someone come out with a NC BBQ roll. That would be awesome. It would be different if the grade of Toro was high but it isnt, and the rolls arent terribly creative, so the prices shouldnt be so high. Kotobuki is the opposite better than average sushi, not as good as Sushi-Ko but literally right up-there and the prices are half Sushi-Ko. The shumai was better then must in DC too. I love shumai it really should be on every Asian restautarants place. ot to get off base but the toro was so nice and fatty it was excellent and they wer ehue portions so that you experienced the fish and not the rice. So basically sushi-ko quality at half the price.
Palisadies has it all, check out the food scene: I havent been to Makoto yet but I will and black salt is incredible and Kotobuki is well worth the trip. Honestly, this might be my sushi place from here on out.
DC Scale: Redline is already framed and mounted on the office wall.
End of line.
