Shots Fired

It suppsoed to be the start of recess but we had one last hearing. My boss did well. Then it came over blackberry and annuciator systems and announced by the Chairman. "Shots Fired in Rayburn." Lockdown, shut the doors, we cant stupid C-Span taped cables to the floor that cant be pulled up. People started to freak out. Our hearing went on, ever minute the blackberry buzzed with new news. Was it gunfire, or pipes, or a Neumatic Hammer in the lift. At first everyone was fine then the message came over, "Lock all doors...wait for the police" Now everyone is a little on edge. What can I duck behind and damnit why didnt I get here earlier i'm to close to the doors. All clear five hours later....

Working on Capitol Hill you accept a few facts. Pay is shitty. You will get yelled at by Members and constituents. Everyone thinks they are smarter then the other guy. A few more years will get you a nice private sector job. Athrax will be mailed to you. A consituent will threaten to kill you on the phone. A plane will crash into the Capitol and wing nut gunmen want to come in and shot you.

Its all clear for now.
