SpaceCadet76 and I ponder serious questions and issues that face us. It is usually a most enlightening conversation, with great insight. We discussed emerging Russian global ambitions, the move to commercialize the space industry, sex with a hot a nun and genetically modified nd enhanced foods.
Yesterday he shared a quiz with me that can dramatically alter, well frankly everything...the questiosn were about who can win in a fight. Heroes v. X-men, Lara Croft v. Indiana Jones (This question was infuriating please Indy would crush anybody), well you get my drift.
My question: Who would win in a fight between Cylons v. Storm Troopers?
Think about a dog fight between raiders versus Tie fighters. The problem with Lucas was that dog fights in space do not have the physics as Maverick and Ice Man versus Migs, spce fights exists in multiple plains and in any direction so it would seem that the advantage goes to the raiders. Of course tie=fighters shoot lasers.
Cylons have base stations versus the Empire's Star Destryoers. Star Destryoers seem nimbler but there seems to be limited fire power. i guess the same can be said for Base Stations. but if we factor in ecen a partially complete Death Star well its over for the cylons.
Cylons have super hot replocons like Grace Park and Tricia Hefler and Xena. Storm Troopers have....no one I guess. Maybe Mara Jade from the books.
Storm Troopers versus Centurions. while the centurions have fire power storm troopers seem better equipped and thoughtful in battle, plus they have speeder bikes, and AT-AT's.
Then we get to leadership Baltar cersus Darth Vadar. Ha Ha Ha not really a question.
Emperically speaking cylons have anumber ofmadvsantages over storm troopers, but storm troopers have heart. It is a perplexing question. Help?

Flynn would rule all ass. He took on Master Control for gosh sakes. Basically he would battle inward and no one could stop him. Not even Norton's Anti Virus. He'd shut off all Cyclones, Reprogram Vader then shut down the Death Star. The Emperor would be useless. Hell, he'd reprogram the Emperor's ship to crash into the Death Star. No Sith could stop him cause he'd be in the friggen Computer.
But Indy would de-rez Flynn with his fist. Indy doesn't need computers. He's friggen Indy. Indy would have sex with Laura Croft then blast her when she came at him with a sideways kick. Left, Left, Jump L1... whatever... Indy would smear her like poo in a baby's diaper.
Which Cyclons? The current version or the old school?
I would think the cylons would win. They'll always download to a new body so it will be tough to kill them. Plus, being a stormtrooper ain't all it is cracked up to be. There may not be a fight there?
I take issue with your comment, Athos, that Storm Troopers have heart. They are mass produced, soulless, and each is meant to be no different from any other. They are the Wal-Mart of sci-fi. And you would think that that would make them the perfect soldier. But let's be honest here . . . the Empire fell like a deck of cheap cards. I mean, they weren't in power very long if you consider the timeline and when push came to shove they were no match for an otherwise ragtag rebellion. I think maybe we have inflated A) the evilness of the Empire and B) the significance of the victory of the Rebel Alliance. If anything, the Empire was more corrupt than evil, and if the Rebel Alliance could bring it down so easily then, lets face it, the Empire was probably on the verge of collapsing under its own weight in anycase.
and I almost forgot . . . hot nuns can defeat both Cylons AND Storm Troopers. There will be no debating this. None.
I'm telling you Flynn would win in either version. He'd just find the main cpu and throw a disk at it or just jump in. He'd reboot the hole damn world.
How can you all discount storm troopers? They cpnquered the universe, they are made from a bounty hunter, they were the empire. The empire fell when they killed the emperor. The guy who built the empire.
What did cylons do? The launched a sneak attack using nukes?? That is there most powerful weapons...c'mon puttin an x-wings shields on double front can dispurse a nuclear blast.
As for Flynn-- dude he is an anti-virus when pong was the most advanced game around. Flynn couldnt reboot a 2007 digital watch let alone any real computer system.
