"Go Back to Your Roots"

This phrase is still ringing in my ears from last night.

I saw an old friend, old telecom staffer friend who is now Counsel for an Energy & Commerce Subcommittee Chairman. We had a discussion about approps and he laughed and said that the real power is in Commerce. I miss that work. I miss the interaction I miss the issues.

For the past week I have eben trying to figure out next steps and next move. I like the HIll. Lets face it I love the HIll. Doing the people's work gets me all jazzed up, but suffering my demotion has been hard, its been more like heart break. The thing you love on a whole different plan rejects you. Its hard to shake it off.

But I press on, I like the work, I like the Capitol...more later.
