B2 (B-Squared) is a preppy tradition. All those clothes that look preppy Polo, Abercrombie, etc owe there roots to Brooks Brothers. You can get all of your clothes there from when you are born to the day you die. And gues what the style will not change. I am a fan of the conservative preppy look. It is what i feel comfortable in. the basic principle behind preppy clothes is simple, functionality that transends everything except formal wear and you wear until it is tattered, pretorn and pre age dclothees get their roots from preppy clothes as well. most preppy families past clothes down, because it was expensive and well made and frankly most preppy families are cheap.
Anyway on to the must haves:
1. The blue blazer- While not cheap a blue blazer can be used for almost any occasion travel to a night out. a really dark navy can pass for a formal jacket as well. A good one will last forever.
2. Non-iron shirt- Wow, these shirts save time money. In basic colors it can supplemnt a wardrobe and can be stored in a desk just in case. i love these shirts because they travel well and a little heat and a snap and presto!
3. Brass Collar stays: if you have a non button down shirts these babies will always help you win the day. they are weighty enough to keep a collar down, they come in a nice little case and arent wasteful. Brass collar stays say it all a man about town with nothing to lose, plus with these you wont have to put a paper clip in your collar to keep it down.

Blue Blazer - Agreed. I've got a great one with my YC logo on the breast. Problem: that was two tummies ago...
Button collared shirts??? Too fat for that. Makes my cheeks plumpy.
