Can I make you a mix tape?

In my day made a number of killer mix tapes: one for driving to the ocean, one when angst ridden and of course the ones for wooing women....in this iPod age does a playlist carry the same weight as a mixtape and how do I give or present that list to the ladies in my life? With a tape you can decorate the box and make the lettering all arty. With a mix tape sometime you had to time out songs to make sure you could fit your emotions on one side and deliver the message of love...i dont get that feel from a downloaded-playlist, it seems so distant....maybe a prelaoded nano with my message of love??

Publish it to itunes and make the girl buy the list.

Urr. That doesn't sound cool at all.

Make the mix . . . put it in a zip file and upload to sendspace.com, then send the link to whoever you want to have the mix.

The problem with a mixtape today is that the girl probably won't have a cassette player to listen to all your hard work...

I think that's all fine & good, but still lacks the full effect of a mix tape. Why don't you put it on disc .. then you can write your girlie msgs on the disc, make her a special cover, have something physical to give to your girl .. blah blah blah

Better yet, serenade her a la Maverick and Goose doing "You've Lost That Loving Feeling" . . . that would be classy. And if you wore your Navy whites you'd knock her socks off. Seriously, join the Navy. Now. Government issued pea coats.

I've read this post a couple times over and I keep thinking of the "Avenue Q" song "Mix Tape".

Anyway, people still use CD's. You could make a mix CD.

Just a thought.
