So my friend Pete is leaving DC. He is the last of my old DC friends to move away. My group of friends from 1995.
What was life like back then....Ally McBeal was popular. We had a wrap and roll, three bookstores, and four coffe shops in Cleveland Park. I ddnt have a car and rode the metro. I ate my meals at happy hours and receptions. i left the office at 600PM. Two bedrooms were barely over $100,000. I got hassled by Broadcasters about TiVo and how it would ruin TV. We didnt have the telecom Act, what a joke. I didnt have a cell phone no one did. The office still didnt have internet access. We had dummy terminals and no email. CRS was in packet form and there was a room in the building for the packets. You could drive up to the Capitol. Seinfeld was ending. Short Skirts and Long jackets. Swing Nights. Beautiful babies. Starbucks, whats that. I regularily went into Virginia. i lived in a dorm for free.
What hasnt changed....Im still on the balsted Hill. the food in the cafeteria. Our arguments for any issue under the sun. My crap salary. Cafe Deluxe and Cactus Cantina.
