Why dont I like Coldplay?

I have emo tendencies, i'm a bit of an anglophile, Paltrow is smoking hot but I have no love for Coldplay.  Why is that?  Is my musical taste too rooted in southern rock and alt country but that doesnt explain my love of the Smiths.  They are seemingly socially conscious...for God's sake, why would i like the Indigo Girls and not Coldplay?  Maybe i need wider exposure to the spectrum of their works.

I grew up listening too B-52's and Oingo Boingo and whatever my brother listened to. Damn "Dont Go Back to Rockville" Hooked me...I know it was that damn song that hinders me from liking other music.

Coldplay is too wimpy. At least with Morrisey you have a feeling that he;ll punch you in the nose if you say something bad to him. That chris whats-his-name looks like he'll fold in the first minutes of a fight.
