Duke vs Top Chef
My favorite basketball team and cooking show were on at the same time. I opted for Top Chef because Duke was sucking bad against Clemson. Clemson took Duke out of their game easily and Duke got dusted. My favorite TC elimination challenge was on tonight. The contestants go to a three Michelin Stars Restaurant and must duplicate complex, subtle flavorful dishes. For a trained chef I would assume that the challenge would be easy, but with these dishes the contestants have to be spot on. This challenge shows what a chef knows about cooking in terms of technique, palate, and composition. I find myself when i eat trying to break down the dish and how it was done. I even it do with crispy beef! Joke people. Anyway it just shows that you can imitate flavors but understanding the dishes will help you to decipher what makes a dish awesome. Just in case I wont reveal who went home. All I will say is really??!?!?
