I didnt quit my job today so I celebrated with sushi at Oya. Hipster designed restaurant a la Han Solo vs Vader in Cloud City dining room. Snowbunny came to nosh on some good grindage.
I like most sushi places, traditional Japanese places, hipster cool places, and conveyor belt systems. I however should never go when I am hungry. I always order too much. This is why one should always sit at the bar and pace oneself. Do I really need that Volcano roll? From now on everyone should drop one order of this roll when starting out you wont miss it.
Oya has a Maryland roll that is good. Well spiced but very crabby in that I built a huge pile of crab meat so don't touch it good way. The hamachi tasted great but was a bit on the skimpy side. They had a sweet potato tempura roll, crunchy, sweet and heavy. Unusually yes tasty of course.
You know I didnt see a sushi chef this food may have been done at Whole Foods.
Sushi Taro is still tops and that all I need.

Have you been to the new, post-remodel, new-menu, more upscale Taro? I hear it's too swanky for its own good. Boo hiss.
