This is a historic election. We have a chance to change the direction of this country. Blah blah blah...yes, this is a big year but I'm still concerned about future elections.
People are driven by many reasons to vote. Right now many people are disappointed in the state of our country. We are not in the greatest of shapes and like what all my report cards said, "he is not living up to his potential." We can be, and frankly should be, the greatest country. We have the money, the brains and the drive for greatness but we find away to stump ourselves. Sorry...I still believe. Voting is a civic duty. It is your opportunity to send a message and for all the money of special interest you still have the upper hand, it's called your power to vote. Special Interest cant go into a poll both and use the touch screen to vote you can.
For those of you that dont know, i was a dirty hippie, I wanted to save the planet. i went to school for enviromental studies, I came to DC to change policy and I am still part of the machine to push us the right way. i still vote on the environment. I still think it is the one issue that everyone says yes to but not much is done with. Is my Congressman a good environemntla vote, League of Conservation Voters says yes. Does he support strict caps on GHG emissions? Does he know what sushi can be eaten without impacting fish stocks? His staffers say yes. Finally, I vote because i just dont want my beach to go toxic because I want to take my nieces and nephews Gabe, Grace, Gio, Liv, Elena and my little princess, Iz, to the beach and teach them all to ride waves.
But why do you vote or more importantly why will you vote in the future? is it the war? Is it the economy? is it for your children? Is it for a girl? (Yes Onocoffee that was a shot at you, just joking.) Don't stop after the one, we will keep facing issues and you need to be heard.

'princess iz'. snif.
i'm voting for her right to healthcare, for her to live in a country with sound energy policies, for her right to choose, for her to have a president who isn't a PATRIOT Act-supporting, pre-emptive strike monger.
nader 08!
just as my professor said, you dont have the right to ask a lot from the government if you did not even exercise your most basic right.
I vote to remove Republicans from office. They are a disgrace. Why should I vote for a party that believes that government is the problem? If that's so then find another line of business because you're really fucking shit up. Lead or get out of the way! Just don't lead us off a cliff.
I'm voting to give the Democrats a chance at ruling the world.
I think there should be more pork in the budget. In particular, bacon. We need more bacon.
Whew - you people have lost touch with reality.
Our Government is BOTH Democrats and Republicans. If you think one fucked us without the other then you're just fucking deluding yourself.
The Patriot Act was enacted by both parties - most of whom didn't bother to read the thing (or object to it) in the first place.
How about The War? The whole kit and caboodle went along with that too.
Is there really a difference? The parties are concerned about themselves, not the people. The people are there to be sheep and get screwed - no matter who is in the White House.
Consider that Democrats have controlled Congress for two years and it's still the same goatfuck.
If the people want "change," we need to follow Jefferson and cause a revolution that will change the system.
