Movie Review: Thank You For Smoking

This movie was hilarious. I know some schwarmy lobbyist but Nick Naylor would be king. He's part of the MOD, Merchansts of Death. The alcohol and gun lobby are not bad people but they have a job to do and if y6ou need a lonnyist you want the best. The movie is dark but right on, lobbyist are getting beat up but everyone should remember that lobbyist represent big business and all those workers. And, yes they will spin thigns in their favor. Thats what they are paid to do. Thaqts also why this is funny. The Hollywood-DC connection was also explored super agent rob lowe and lobbyist extrardinare Aaron Eckhardt are cut from the same cloth. DC and Hollywood are a lot alike. One industry towns a ton of egos prodcing really crap and every once and a while something meaningful. We have to appeal to many people and have to deal with the outrage. I firmly belive that I can be a producer and do the same thing. Anyway, Rob Lowe is my favorite actor, he gave West Wing the unapologetic smart liberal that kicked ass and in Tommy Boy he was awesome. I thought the father-son story line was funny. No one grows up wanting to be a lobbyist, usually it is a well intentioned staffer turned lobbyist taking the job to, "Pay the Mortgage." People leave the Hill to make some money to raise a family and to build their castles. It's greay go see it.

DC Scale: Redline is framed and on the wall.

That movie was hilarious. Man, that Hollywood scene made me feel uncomfortable. I think Rob Lowe's character actually represented where he was heading. The movie implied that Rob Lowe was at top of the beans. He was Zen reached. It's a pretty funny painting of his character. Aaron Eckhart was actually more like the assistant in a sense, the smooser, one down from the man himself. Not completely the assistant of course, but somewhere in the middle. That's what his struggle was betwen Duvall and his boss. Overall a great movie. Funny as all hell and with a bite.

The funny part is, I went in thinking what the hell do I need to know more about smoking. We know it's bad. But the movie isn't about that. In fact the more I think about the script the better it gets. How do you take something heavily dealt with and turn into something sparkling fresh? This is how. Wonderful movie. Is this my review. I guess I should post this on my site. I think this is the first time we actually put 3 different reviews for one movie. Cool. Maybe next time we should sit in the back of the theater and live blog somehow. Hee hee.

My rating is a wonderful steak with a heaping side order of good ol' mash potatoes... in BrowserMetics world it would mean 4.5 star rating.
