My roommate is doing a 6 week detail to Seattle. I've only been to Portland in the PacNW and it was remarkable i cant imagine what Seattle must be like. The lushness, the green the killer coffee the people why would you leave? This got me to thinking where would be a good place to live. Im not talking paradise im talking to live and work. What would I need? a decent job, beach, good food, urban and an escape route to alone time, no more allergies...
San Diego could be the place to be. Great weather, great balance, it is on the coast and has good jobs. I could work for a defense contractor right?
Portland: Great small city with everything you could want...but what would i do for a job.
Honolulu: Paradise but it would be too expensive and the remoteness would get to me.
Vegas: Overload all around but no taxes, oh yeah desert heat, maybe if i was a fremen.
Austin: Its in Texas! Oh yeah and its in Texas.
Shanghai: The future but way too overcrowded. Plus half a world away.
DC: Job I love near impossible to balance.
LA: Big sprawl, too much one industry, beautiful weather more jobs then i can shake my fist at accessible from anywhere.
London: My roots!! Everything Angel!! but gray hair.
