Missing Indie Record Stores
I miss browsing CD racks looking for imports and b-sides. I miss discovering new music. We had An Die Musik and Record and Tape Traders and may you could find good music moving up and down the racks. I remember stumbling into the world music section and feeling guilty for looking at country. Thats actual how I started listening to Uncle Tupelo, i found No Depression at the music store in Burlington. It was incredible. HEaring tracks at the store and then getting home and listening to the whole thing. It changed me. In todays world we have chain stores that just dont have the right feel. Also, I just don't get the same charge as when i find music on iTunes. I guess it is the disconnect of banging away on a computer. Maybe if virtual reality would make a come back and i could inject a virtual CapSwell in a virtual store where I could browse i would enjoy it more.
