I love the Office because it is awkwardly painful. Michael Scott as a character is hilarious and he makes me cover my eyes in anguish. I squirm and I just can't wait for the moment to pass. I also enjoyed the movie "I Love You Man" and Paul Rudd's character was painfully awkward. Saying the wrong thing, not being able to click with a group of her fiances friend's husband is hard to watch but it also makes for moments of pure hilarity.
How much longer the viewing public watch this before they want a different kind of comedy. I for one am glad that the American Pie comedy is gone. Teenagers trying to score, having sex with food and instruments are no longer funny, weriously what did these movies give us besides MILF's and the rise of Cougars.
I hope we move towards a Real Genius Model, super smart kids getting away with hi- jinks and mad cappers like reprgramming a test DoD weapon system to explode jiffy pop in a dick of a professors house. Think about this, geeky kid, rebel mentor fighting injustice and assholes everywhere. That is a model of success to live by.
