Surf Camp

I cant think of anything better then the concept of surf camp. i mean a week or two kicking back, riding some killer waves in a tropical locale.

I miss the water, i miss the ocean, I miss being part of it all. To be alittle hooky...for me being in the water is so spiritual. I love everythiing about it. i love the vastness in width and breadth of the ocean. you look out and its miles of nothing, you look down and it is miles of nothing. anyway...

Surf camps should be incentive programs at jobs. hey if you work hard you can go on a week long paid vacation st surf camp! Thats would totally be an incentive program for me.

I am trying to figure out what they would teach..is it technical surfing or is it the complete lifestyle. is there language emersion, (wilbur, grommit, ankle slappers, gnarly, thruster, fish, quads, rockers, pull out, pull a tube, get barrelled, channel) do they teach surf ettiquette? (Dont drop in on anyone and cheer for everyone, dont be a kook) do they teach you to read a wave or understand set patterns (the wave pitches, its a heavy wave, dont touch the first wave in the set it's wimpy). Styles (tricks vs carving)...will the teach proper way to change into and out of board shorts?? Do they teahc you what todo when it is flat? do they teach harmony with the ocean! All questiosn that need to be answered.

SnowBunny I think is going in August, I am jealous I might have to crash her vacation.

Nirvana

This is where you want to be. This is the pinnacle of existence. This is nirvana. Growing up one of my favorite memories would be getting tubed and your friends just hooting and hollering...man I loved it.

Sandy's

I was 16 and on spring break in hawaii...i flew out with Al to ride some waves at Sandy's in hawaii...we had plate lunch every day, more shave ice then i can imagine and some killer food...OnoCoffee made this killer steak with some oniony thing...for those of you who have never had plate lunch then you havent lived.

Sandy's is a shore break, that breaks over rocks...but it is a sweet overhead wave that powers through the middle and reforms on shore...a nice outside would bust out... and you would have to paddle like hell to make sure you didnt get stomped on... it was such a great wave, you could get tubed pull multiple tricks or just carve it up...we lsitened to seven seconds like the whole trip.

It was fun to just ride with Al and OnoCoffee paddled out as well..

Charlie Dont Surf

I was with my boss at an enviro reception...Robert Duvall was there. Pretty cool guy. He was eating oysters and frogmore stew. Thye had non shucked oysters....they wanted us to do it ourselves...no thanks i might jam that damn shucking tool into my palm...the head of the enviro group was all decked out in the only gear that matter patagonia.

This was a good reception.

I want to go surfing. I need the ocean.
