Turkey Loves Rachel Ray

It's true. Turkish women love Rachel Ray. In one of my many dinners with local elected and prominent figures I always found myself seated next to a Turkish woman. Always beautiful and impeccably dressed the conversation often devolved into talk about US culture and television. I would eventually ask what US TV shows they liked and it was either Ellen or Rachel Ray. Ellen I get, she's goofy has celebrities ...but Rachel ray? They all liked her cooking show and making a meal in 30 minutes seemed incredible to them. They liked her energy and enthusiasm. Do they think all Americans are so bubbly? Or that we only eat one big massive EVOO pasta and chicken dish? Maybe this is progress, maybe they see us as evolving past McDonald's and into something more. I think the most typically American show, even though conceived by Brits is the Office. they way we work, play and love all wrapped up into a crap office. Anyway turkish poeple love rachel ray.
