Do you read the paper? I read them online now. Did you know that the Baltimore Sun's Online front page's top news story is an accident on I-95 and not the economy that is sinking into a pool of crap. The second story is icy weather and not the economy. No Republicans voted for the stimulus package to make a point of course when it comes back around during conference they can vote for it then. An AP article mentions this.
"In fact, though, many Republicans in the House are virtually immune from Democratic challenges because of the makeup of their districts, and have more to fear from GOP primary challenges in 2010. As a result, they have relatively little political incentive to break with conservative orthodoxy and support hundreds of billions in new federal spending."
We have lost 2,000,000 million jobs so far this year. Every major corporation is firing people and closing stores, Circuit City gone, Home Depot closes 140 stores, Legg Mason lost $1,5 billion last quarter. If you don't think the economy is bad now wait. Its going to get worse. Thats why Congress took action we need to stop the bleeding and we need to lay a foundation for growth. The economy makes me nervous.
